May was a great month for Spring makeup. A lot of the beauty brands launched their Spring/Summer collections that I couldn’t wait to check out. Here’s a list of some products I loved in May.
Wet n Wild Flights of Fancy Color Icon Blush in the shade Dare to Soar
Blush has been a huge part of my Spring/Summer makeup routine. In the Fall/Winter I tend to keep my blush very light and minimal. This season, I really wanted to step out of my comfort zone with blush and wear more bold colors. This blush is perfect for that. It looks intimidating in the pan, but honestly, any skin tone can rock this. It is a very glowy blush and it does not apply too pigmented so you can definitely build it up. Wet n Wild has been doing amazing with their makeup. I highly recommend this color and the other shades they have.
I featured this product in my cruelty free drugstore wishlist and let me tell you, it has quickly become one of my favorite foundations of all time. I am a huge stick foundation fan so when I heard about a drugstore version, I had to get it. The color I got is perfect and I love the finish. It’s not too thick and a little goes a long way. I like to blend this out with my Morphe M439 brush which is perfect. The coverage is medium but buildable. It lasts all day on my face and it does not break me out which is a problem I have with a lot of foundations.
I have tried so many setting sprays and most have worked, but nothing compares to the mist on the Morphe one. Nothing bothers me more than a spray that squirts out on your face unevenly and leaves droplets. I always have to go back in with a beauty blender and pat the spray in. This Morphe spray is a true, fine mist. It is perfection. It smells great and you will never have to worry about water droplets ruining your makeup.
I have been on a blush kick especially with bold colors and orange/coral colors. I wanted to try a true orange blush and I found the perfect one from Elf. This blush has gold glitter flecks in it but it does not look glittery on the face. It looks amazing over my bronzer, enhancing the warm glow of the bronzer.
I had never tried a NudeStix product until a few months ago when I bought a matte lip trio. I loved the colors and formula and knew I had to try more from the brand. I saw that the founders of NudeStix, a mother and two daughters, came out with their own custom shades. They are in a gel formula and are super hydrating on the lips. I love the nude colors because they are perfect for work when I want to pop on something quick, easy and not too bold. If you haven’t tried anything from NudeStix, you definitely have to.
